A mini-conference designed to introduce kids to technology, interesting careers and creative pursuits they may want to explore as they get older. An opportunity to meet inventors, innovators and interesting people who do what they love, and love what they do.
We have also selected a special group of technology start-ups to introduce and demonstrate their inventions to children attending.
This is an event for children and parents to enjoy and be inspired at together. Your children are the innovators of our future.
Children aged 8-12 years (and their parent / carer).
The event is organised by UrbanExplorer.com We have written about wonderful London events for families for over two years in the Top Ten Weekend Guide, and this is our first event for families in London.
Sunday 17th May, doors open at 2:00pm with talks lasting approximately two hours, followed by an option to stay and play / demo the technology exhibitors gadgets. The event will finish by 6:00pm.
In addition to the terrific and inspirational speaker line-up, there will be a small exhibition of hand-picked technology gadgets and start-ups demonstrating their inventions, and allowing children to play with and test the technology.
The event is designed especially for to 8-12 year old children and is run like a conference, albeit, timing is adjusted to suit the age. The format and topics discussed are not aimed at younger children (but mature six / seven year olds are welcome at parents discretion. No under 6’s please).
Sorry, no, this is an event aimed at children. No adults without child supervision and visa versa. You are of course welcome to ‘borrow’ an age appropriate child from a friend so you can attend together.
All children must have adult supervision at all times.
Tickets for adults and children are priced between £20 – £30 depending on the location within the theatre. All seats have a terrific view, some are just closer to the action, but the theatre is intimate with a very good rake so children can see clearly. All children will also receive a generous goody bag after the show.
Tickets are nonefundable, but can be re-assigned to someone else if you notify us at least 48hrs before the event.
Tickets can be collected at the venue when you arrive. Tickets will not be posted in advance.
Our venue is the worldenowned Royal Institution of Great Britain at 21 Albemarle Street, Mayfair, London W1S 4BS
There are Pay and Display bays in the streets around the venue and in Berkeley Square. The nearest car park is in Burlington Street.
An unmanned cloakroom is available to use at your own risk.
The venue cafe is not open on the weekend. Food is not permitted in the auditorium. There are many options in the area ranging from Pret on the corner to the Wolseley a few minutes away, and everything in between. Have a look at our venue page with a few of our favourite nearby places for coffee and snacks.
